I am a Registered Psychologist with more than 25 years of experience in the mental health field and I have practicing privately since 2013. I received a Master’s Degree in Science for Counseling Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Science Psychology and Biology. I am currently accepting clients, approved to provide services for private insurance companies and I am also able to provide direct billing for various insurance companies as well (including Blue Cross, Greenshield, SSQ, Great West Life, Canada Life and any other available through various private insurance companies). Motor Vehicle Accident coverage (through anyone who has car insurance (Please check out the MVA link above for more information) is also available for those who have been in an accident (Please contact for more details as anyone who has been in an accident can claim this under their or others CAR insurance ).
I am currently registered as a provider for those with the Sunlife Financial benefit provider (but unfortunately at this time Sunlife Financial Benefit Provider under Lumino Health provider does not allow ANY psychologists the ability to direct bill but they are typically very quick to reimburse clients! I have experience in delivering short and long-term mental health care services to clients with a variety of mental health issues. They can include self-regulation of moods (anxiety & depression), trauma (physical & emotional), family dynamics, self-care, relationships, life skills, managing workplace conflict, anger management, pain, chronic illness management, workplace injuries, motor vehicle accident (trauma & pain), grief, couples counseling, and well as high-stress management.
Using a positive, strength and thought-based psychological approach; I enjoy working collaboratively with clients to help them achieve their goals and move in a healthier direction. I can help you work on building and adapting your current life skills and abilities to generate healthy skill-sets to reach your personal goals and increase success in your daily life, relationships and career. This is mainly done with a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework that integrates other therapies suited directly to you the client.
I also have previous experience working as a Family and Youth Counselor at a residential treatment center in Red Deer, Alberta where I assisted youths aged 11-18 years with various behavioral, psychological, and addiction issues. I worked with the Street Ties program supervising homeless youths during the day and assisted them with resume writing, computer skills, and provided nutritious snacks. I have worked at a Detox Centre for children under the age of 18, and counselled youths who were court-ordered to participate in AADAC and PChAD (Protecting Children Against Drugs) services. I can help you navigate with your family and youth in a healthier way when experiencing troubles in these areas.
I worked as a Family Support Worker for over 2 years with Assured Community Services helping families and youth make healthy transitions in their lives, and I also assisted them with behavioral and relationship issues. I have assisted families in the social services system with foster family involvement, safe and effective interaction, and supervision.
I have also worked as a Youth Group Peer Support Program Coordinator for the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta for over 7 years, coordinating group activities and education/life skills modules for individuals with schizophrenia and/or psychosis aged 16-30 years.
